Advance Rome City (ARC)

Advance Rome City sponsors local events including the Spring Fling, a fund-raising event held the Friday before Mother's Day each year and Chautauqua Days, including a parade and other events the second weekend in August.

Advance Rome City has been formed for the revitalization and beautification of Rome City and the surrounding area. The organization exists to promote economic and tourism growth in the area, and to provide a forum for the public to discuss matters of revitalization and economic development. The organization strives to improve pride in the community and also works to make Rome City a place where neighboring citizens and travelers wish to visit. Advance Rome City shares the unique history of our area with youth and promotes the continued development of our town through community events and public education.

Advance Rome City meets the first Monday of each month, at Sylvan Cellars in Rome City at 6:30 pm.

Projects Completed by ARC

  • Planted 1,000 bulbs with Rome City Elementary 4th and 5th graders- part of the Little Bit of Luck grant from Dekko Foundation.  This beautification project is called “Positive Practice for Life”

  • Interactive music garden at Gaff Park

  • Removed trash including metal and stumps at local businesses.

  • Work with business to install planters and various seasonal plantings: Subway, Millers, Post Office, Sundaes on Sylvan, Carolines Cottage

  • Perennial Garden at Kelly St Ext                                 

  • Landscaping & Park Benches at Lake Access          

  • BirdTown Initiative

  • *Game Tables at Lake Access

  • *Gazebo at Lake Access                                               

  • *North & South Welcome Signs                                 

  • *Rome City Park Signs                                                

  • Kelly Park Accessible Picnic Table                              

  • Grant Park Trail Head/2 bike racks 2022                            

  • New sidewalks to school

  • Contributions to Noble Trails

  • Noble County Bison Initiative at Town Hall

  • Noble County Mural Initiative at Town Hall (Grant received from The Dekko Foundation)

  • *Kerr Island Causeway Improvement

  • Chautauqua Events each year include: Parade, Block Party and Lyrics on Lakeside  

  • Organizational Sign at the Dam/Event Banners       

  • Spring Fling Fundraiser held each year                      

  • Establishment of Façade & Signage Grants. Recipients include Specialty House, Millers Markets, Shooky’s and Fancy Flowers, Docs Landing, Mural on North wall of Shooky’s 2022                      

 
Upcoming Projects:

  • *Extension of Noble Trails through Rome City North

  • *Street lights and Christmas lights on SR 9 and Front Street

  • Mushroom Cymbal for the interactive music garden

  • Continue working with Rome City Elementary School with the grant from Dekko Foundation.
